How should go about hiring an architect?
Ask your friends and relatives if they have worked with an architect in the past, or know of anyone who has. If anyone in your neighborhood is building or remodeling, ask your neighbor if they are working with an architect and whether or not they would recommend that firm. You can also search on the Internet or look in your local yellow pages for an architect near you. Before you hire an architect, you should meet with him or her to discuss the following:

You should hire an architect who can complete the work in a timely manner for a good price, but you should also consider how comfortable you are with the architect. The homebuilding process can take some time and you want to be sure that you are comfortable with the architect that you choose to work with.
